Defensible space creation in Utah

Defensible space isn't a haircut for your lot — it's a specific standard, measured in feet from your structure. We build to it.

THE ZONE MODEL

Three zones. Three different jobs.

  • Zone 0 · 0–5 ft: the noncombustible buffer. Rock mulch in place of bark, flammable shrubs out, firewood and storage relocated, nothing burnable under decks.
  • Zone 1 · 5–30 ft: lean and green. Trees limbed up, shrubs separated into islands, ladder fuels cut, dead material removed.
  • Zone 2 · 30–100 ft: fuel reduction. Thinning for crown separation, brush mowed or masticated, slash chipped or hauled.

Where your city has adopted defensible space standards under HB 48, we build to the published requirement and document compliance.

Good defensible space rarely looks bare. Done right, it reads as a cleaner, more deliberate landscape — and it's the difference between a ground fire passing by and a ground fire reaching your eaves.

Assessment first, then a fixed-price scope by zone. No surprises on the invoice or on the hillside.
